Shooting directors Leander Ward and Craig Gebhart have just returned from the beautiful Faroe Islands where they were putting Wayfarer Media’s new 4k RAW Sony F55 camera package and Canon 5D based Konova motion control time lapse kit to the test..
Working alongside filmmaker Malcolm Wright and exec producer Fisher Stevens (The Cove) and with the talented Martyn Stewart running the sound, Ward and Gebhart filmed interviews of several individuals who are both for and against the Grind, the controversial hunting of pilot whales that is very much part of the fabric of Faroese culture. They also filmed the archipelago’s stunning biodiversity and landscapes and spend a day flying around the islands by helicopter, courtesy of the lovely folk at Atlantic Airways.
